Mark Marderosian is a multi-talented illustrator, with a myriad of picture books, a vast array of commercial art, and now he hosts a public access television series, "Drawing With Mark," where his presentations have been described as low key and as similar to the ambience of the legendary "Mr. Rogers." The program helps children unlock their creativity through drawing and is available in over 10 million homes nationwide.

He has taught ages 6 through 86 in cartooning, illustration and animation. Mark Marderosian         adapts to varying skill levels and ages for step-by-step educational growth and reinforcement. The school-visiting curriculum with age appropriate hand-outs, demonstrations, and interactive drawing lessons has received rave reviews with presentations for grades 1 to 12 available.  At the New England School of Art & Design, Mark taught animation, drawing theory, and techniques for college courses.

Drawing with Mark - An Exciting Project

Mark hosts a syndicated television series, airing across the country. This program focuses on teaching young children the fun aspects of drawing.  It is shown on many educational cable-access channels as well, receiving great notes and reviews from educators with cards and letters from children. Teachers and Educators from Harvard are on the Advisory Board.

“As an on-air host,” said Maria Sheehan,
Executive Director for WCAC in Waltham, MA,
“Marderosian is a breath of fresh air. So many
shows now are in your face, with that loud,
angry, constantly-being-stimulated thing,” she said.

“This is a very sweet, kind and gentle show.”

Mark has taught all styles of cartooning and animation to all ages--elementary school, middle school, high school and college. His classes are met with great enthusiasm and excellent reviews. A
sixty-minute presentation includes students' drawing and learning basic animation, as they see famous cartoon characters and even their own characters come to life through construction and motion.
Mark is available for school visits for grades 1 to 12 and is also available for fun one-hour sessions through Skype. These sessions show how animation and artwork for his work is created. AND children are fascinated as these presentations also provide a great glimpse at some of the techniques and work that go into producing an episode of the TV Show.

A sneak preview of Drawing with Mark:

Experienced in TV production and editing, Mark graduated from Massachusetts College of Art Boston, receiving an MA B.A. in Film Animation. He is co-owner of Big City Publishing, LLC, Newton, MA.

Editorial Reviews
Children's Literature
If kids are familiar with the Nickelodeon program, "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius," this book will probably have more appeal. It is a hot summer day and Jimmy decides to help his friends cool off. He sends a rocket full of Sun block at the Sun. It cools off fast, first with a light snow, which gets deeper and the weather gets colder. It turns out that Jimmy made a slight error—one that could cause a second ice age. The solution is a smelly one and will certainly appeal to the boy fans. A Level 2 book in the "Ready-to-Read" series. 2003, Simon and Schuster,
